The history of VDL Mast Solutions
Founded in Oss, Brabant in 1947 as Kaal Technische Aanneming, the company began with contracting work, earthworks, and the installation of cable networks. The production of lighting poles started for internal use and, from 1966 onwards, developed into the core activity: the design and manufacture of mast structures. After many years of growth (including the name change to Kaal Masten), the company was acquired by the VDL Groep on July 6, 2017, and has since continued under the name VDL Mast Solutions.
From this modest beginning, VDL Mast Solutions grew into a leading manufacturer in the field of various poles. To offer our customers a complete solution, we have not only established a production facility, but also a dedicated engineering department to calculate and design pole constructions. In addition, we have assembled a field service team, allowing us to carry out installation alongside engineering and production. This enables us to execute the entire process seamlessly.
In 1994, we had our quality system certified, making us the first pole factory to receive the ISO 9001 certificate. In 2017, VDL Mast Solutions proudly became part of the VDL Group.
Over the past decades, VDL Mast Solutions has evolved into a fully-fledged pole manufacturer with diverse activities under one roof.
