At VDL Mast Solutions, sustainability is at the core. We develop innovative solutions that not only reduce our ecological footprint but also have a positive impact on our immediate environment and society.
Our production facilities are designed to make a local impact, striving for lower emissions rather than merely compensating with CO₂ reduction measures. In addition, our products actively contribute to sustainability, for example through applications for electric charging, overhead lines for public transport, and even wind energy.
To extend the lifespan of our products, we apply advanced techniques such as HMR and our specialized coating system. Through regular inspections and maintenance, our poles continue to perform optimally, and through refurbishing we give used products a new life. In this way, we combine innovation with responsibility for a more sustainable future.

Innovative Production Methods and Sustainability Monitoring
Bij VDL Mast Solutions streven we naar innovatieve en duurzame productiemethoden om onze impact op het milieu te minimaliseren en tegelijkertijd hoogwaardige producten te leveren. Een van de technieken die we toepassen is koude technologie voor de productie van conische masten, wat zorgt voor een aanzienlijke energiebesparing en vermindering van de uitstoot van schadelijke stoffen. Daarnaast gebruiken we de Milieubarometer om continu onze milieuprestaties te monitoren en verbeteren. Met behulp van MKI- en EPD-berekeningen kunnen we de milieu-impact van onze producten gedurende hun gehele levenscyclus optimaliseren, wat transparantie en verbeterde milieuprestaties mogelijk maakt.
At VDL Mast Solutions, we strive for innovative and sustainable production methods to minimize our environmental impact while delivering high-quality products. One of the techniques we use is cold technology for the production of conical poles, which results in significant energy savings and reduced emissions of harmful substances. In addition, we use the Environmental Barometer to continuously monitor and improve our environmental performance. With the help of LCA (MKI) and EPD calculations, we can optimize the environmental impact of our products throughout their entire lifecycle, enabling transparency and improved environmental performance.

At VDL Mast Solutions, we focus on making a real impact in our immediate environment. We do this by actively promoting local sustainability and improving the living environment. Our initiatives include sustainable (re)construction projects using environmentally friendly materials and energy-efficient methods. In addition, we promote sustainable mobility by deploying electric vehicles both inside and outside our factories, contributing to the reduction of our emissions. Our expertise in infrastructure further supports the optimization of public spaces, improving traffic flow and enhancing the livability of the surroundings. Sustainable Development Goals
At VDL, our ambition is to make a structured contribution to the UN’s sustainability goals. To achieve this, we have partnered with UNICEF, the United Nations children’s rights organization. Together, we map the various components of our supply chain to ensure that the raw materials we use are free from child labor. In addition, UNICEF supports us in establishing a framework to make VDL’s contribution to global sustainability goals transparent.
