Twins Oosterhout is a leading baseball and softball club competing in the highest national division: the Hoofdklasse. As one of the largest clubs in the Netherlands, Twins plays an important role in the development of the sport, both at recreational level and in elite sport. The extensive sports complex in Oosterhout forms the beating heart of the club and is used intensively by players, coaches, volunteers and supporters.

To continue performing at the highest level, it is essential that sports facilities meet the requirements of the Hoofdklasse as well as international standards. Sports pitch lighting plays a crucial role in this. Good lighting is indispensable for evening training sessions and matches, contributes to the safety of players and officials, and creates a professional appearance for spectators and the media.

Complete renewal of floodlights and infrastructure

As part of the recent redevelopment of the sports park, it was decided to completely renew the sports field lighting. New lighting columns have been installed on all fields, fitted with Philips OptiVision LED luminaires from Signify. These luminaires provide a high and uniform light output while also being considerably more energy-efficient than traditional lighting solutions.

The underground infrastructure has also been completely renewed. All underground energy cables have been relaid in accordance with the applicable standards, with a focus on safety, reliability and future-proofing.

Dynamic and sustainable lighting solution

An important part of the project is the dynamic lighting system. This makes it easy to adjust the light intensity for each pitch and situation. The lighting can be dimmed during training sessions and increased to the required competition level for matches. This results in significant energy savings and lower operating costs, without compromising on quality or comfort.

The system is user-friendly and offers flexibility for a wide range of users, from coaches to groundskeepers.

Ambition and quality on display at the sports park

With this investment in high-quality LED sports field lighting, Twins Oosterhout is underlining its ambition to continue playing a pioneering role in the Dutch baseball and softball community. The upgraded lighting contributes to a safe, sustainable and professional sporting environment in which athletes can perform at their best and visitors can experience the sport at the highest level.

VDL Mast Solutions is proud to contribute through this project to a future-proof sports park ready for the next generation of baseball and softball talent.
