The Spooldersluis in Zwolle is a location where infrastructure and water management come together. A place where safety, visibility and reliability are constantly put under pressure by intensive use and changing conditions! Precisely in locations like these, a standard approach is not an option, and every solution requires careful coordination with the surroundings and its function.

Mast solutions in a dynamic environment

In 2025, VDL Mast Solutions supplied various mast solutions for the Spooldersluis lock. The project included the supply of lighting columns, camera masts and signal masts, which together provide good lighting, clear signalling and reliable monitoring of the lock and its immediate surroundings. Solutions that must perform day and night and are designed for a long service life in a demanding outdoor environment.

In addition, production and delivery of dolphin masts is currently still under way. These masts play an important role in the safe mooring and guidance of shipping and form an essential part of the overall system around the lock. With this project, VDL Mast Solutions demonstrates its strengths: developing and supplying mast solutions that are reliable, durable and tailored to practical requirements.
